Members of the 149th Batch should start making plans for our 20 years reunion, where we head back to the Mico once more.

We could use this medium to make plans, share ideas, and access information as they become available.

I agree with micoman87. In planning for the reunion we should consider forming a planning committee which includes members from abroad and Jamaica. The 149th batch members should also think about what we can give back to Mico. Let's not wait until the last minute to start planning. Submit your ideas now.

Id like to extend congrats to the planning committee for getting the ball rolling for the 2005 reunion. I read the minutes of your prior meetings and would like to make the following recommendations (1) The awards function should be a fundraiser, we sell tickets and plan to have it during Mico Week on either Friday or Saturday night. (2) Getting the computers be a collective effort of batch members who are overseas with the possibilty of getting them donated by companies. (3)Approach corporations for sponsorhip for the scholarship fund, it could be a joint effort between MICO and the 149th batch. Good job everyone!!!

Hi Jackie, We welcome your suggestions regarding our reunion and the proposed projects. Would it be possible for you to be the 149th batch NY liaison for the planning committee? We need to contact those miconians in the NY area, and the idea of having the overseas batch mates pool together and link with those computer firms re the donation of the computers is a very good suggestion. I will forward your idea about the scholarship funding to Deon and share it with the other members of the batch at our next meeting.
Does any one want to be an overseas or parish liaison for the Planning committee?
We have Lascelles and Paula being the Canadian liaison, we now need others in Florida, NY and London to be the contact to the Planning Committee. If any one of you are interested, please let us know. The liaison contact would be responsible for contacting members of the 149th batch in their region/parish.
By the way, does anyone know how we can get in touch with Luke Williams, we know he is in London, but we need an email and telephone contact

Dear Batchmates

MICO Week will be held from March 14-18 2005. This is the week before Easter. Our reunion at the college will be on Friday March 18, 2005. The planning Committee will be planning activities during that week as well. Please continue to monitor the website for further details.

Hi Althea,

I live in Boston and so far I think I'm the only one in this area. I spoke to Viveene Dormer and was told that Monique was coordinating the New York area. However, I am willing to donate a DVD.

If you do get the air conditioners and computers you should consider approaching Air Jamaica to ship them free of cost for you. I'll look into it and let you know.

Also, if we start the scholarship fund, we should consider putting the money in a money market account or some kind of investment accont. JMMB has a 12%(Jamaican)or 4% (US)return on their Money Market accounts.

Hi Althea,

It's good to be back in touch with the committee. I heard that you had a successful meeting last Friday and the reunion plans are very interesting. The AC estimate you asked me the get was left in my office, so I gave Winsome the contact information for the person did it and asked her to get another copy. She will take it to the next meeting.

Hi Jackie,

I am back at Boston College, so you are no longer alone in this ice box. As a matter fact, the last time I check the members contact I saw a Massachuetts listing for Haverlina Wilmot. Let us try to link up soon.

Dear All,

149TH BATCH REUNION 2005 EVENTS

The College and the Planning Committee would like to have an idea of the number of persons who would be attending the events on Wed-Thurs, March 16-17, 2005 North Coast Reunion, Fridays, March 18th - Reunion at the College and Saturday, March 19th 2005 - Reunion and Awards Dinner. We are asking the batchmates in general to indicate whether they are attending all or any of the reunion events to any of the Parish Liaisons, Oversees Liaisons, or Planning Committee members no later than Monday, February 28, 2005.
